Digital Radiographs
pp1dc3041c.jpg
A radiograph is a picture derived from an x-ray exposure.  Radiography is an
essential tool for diagnosing and assessing teeth and facial bones.  Dentists need
radiography to make accurate and useful diagnosis for their patients.

Digital radiographs have the following advantages over film based radiographs:

Patient radiation exposure is decreased about 5 to 10 fold, this is a significant
reduction.

The images obtained are generally superior to film images.

Digital radiographs are easier to store, retrieve and if needed send (via e-mail )
to another dentist.

As you obtain electronic medical records (EMR) of your health history, your digital
radiographs can be readily incorporated into and be a useful component of your
EMR.
